Hardangervidda National Park Centre opened in 2013 and here you can visit the modern exhibition about nature and the reindeer in the national park with as many as 22 interactive installations. Visitors can learn more about the adaptation of reindeer to the harsh high mountain climate of Norway, as well as their distribution around the world from prehistoric times. You can also see tools made from reindeer bones more than 17,000 years ago, found in southern France. In the research and management section, you can see how work is being done to protect this unique species.
