Ski holiday

Go on a gloriously active holiday in some of Europe's finest and best ski resorts and get colour in your cheeks, as well as a slight tingle of the cold and all that fresh air. Ski holidays can offer great slopes and runs, but also silence, peace and pure relaxation after a long day of activities for young and old. On this page you will find Risskov's large selection of the best and cheapest hotels, offers and packages for ski holidays in several European countries such as Norway, Germany, Austria, Sweden and the Czech Republic.

Explore the Norwegian mountains with an unforgettable ski holiday in Norway! Over the centuries, this beautiful skiing nation has developed, honed and perfected some of the world's top ski areas and today offers state-of-the-art skiing facilities in absolute world class. The high standards shine through in every aspect of winter sports, from the country's ski schools and instructors to the quality, child-friendliness and safety of each ski area. This, combined with the stunning and wild Norwegian nature, has made Norway one of the Danes' favourite countries to go on a ski holiday in for many years.

Risskov has a good cooperation with hotels in some of Norway's most popular areas such as Trysil, Geilo, Oslo and Lillehammer. Trysil is the country's largest ski resort and is located in stunning surroundings near the border into Sweden. Here you'll find four main areas offering a total of 67 pistes and runs of all levels, two huge children's areas and a host of activities from alpine skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing to off-piste, dog sledding and tobogganing. The area is simply perfect for a family skiing and winter activities holiday in Norway!

Next door in Sweden, you'll also find plenty of great conditions for skiing. Find a cheap hotel stay in Sälen, for example, and see for yourself why it's one of the best ski resorts in the Nordic countries. Sälen is one of the largest in Northern Europe and offers superb conditions for a wonderful ski holiday for the whole family. Plenty of alpine adventure awaits with more than a hundred slopes and runs of many different difficulty levels, numerous child-friendly environments and fantastic cross-country trails in the Sälen mountains and the surrounding area. In addition to skiing, the area also offers a wealth of activities for children, restaurants and plenty of beautiful scenery. For example, visit Fulufjället National Park, which is beautifully situated towards Norway's land border and is home to Sweden's highest waterfall.

The idyllic and scenic area around Lake Siljan also offers plenty of opportunities for skiing, nature and sightseeing in one stay. There are several hotels near both the lake and the area's ski resorts, and you can even combine your ski holiday with a delicious round of relaxation and wellness in Dalarna's beautiful surroundings.

The favourite ski destination of Danes south of the border is Austria, and it's no wonder - Austria has it all: big mountains, beautiful valleys, rushing waterfalls, shining lakes, huge forests, charming wooden houses, hilly landscapes and exciting cities. Not to mention the incomparable Austrian hospitality and renowned cuisine. Risskov has a good cooperation with hotels both in the Salzburg region, in Tyrol, in Styria and Vorarlberg which must be said to be some of the country's most popular areas - not just for ski holidays, but in fact all year round.

Germany has several superb ski resorts, which are ideal for self-drive holidays when coming from Denmark. One of Germany's most popular destinations is of course the Harz Mountains, which offer plenty of opportunities all year round - including ski resorts in winter - but also in the east near the Erzgebirge and in the south down by the Black Forest, you'll find great starting points for ski holidays and winter breaks.

Experience the stunning Harz landscape as the scenic areas around the Harz National Park transform into a true paradise for alpine skiing and cross-country skiing adventures. For example, find a hotel near Braunlage and experience the thrill of the descent of the almost one kilometre high Wurmberg. Or combine your skiing holiday with a stay in one of the beautiful castle hotels in the Harz. There are also many great wellness hotels in the Harz, where you can enjoy a wonderful mix of winter activities and relaxing spa and wellness.

Over in eastern Germany, where the beautiful Erzgebirge mountain range marks the border between Germany and the Czech Republic, a glorious ski area awaits with more than 50 km of slopes and beautiful scenery. The peaks are easily accessible with almost 80 modernised ski lifts strategically located throughout the area. With child-friendly slopes, snowboard runs and cross-country ski trails, the area is ideal for families with children as well as friends and couples on an active holiday.

It is also highly recommended to go to the Czech Republic and experience the wonderful Czech culture and hospitality, in a still rather overlooked country as a ski destination. Although the Czech Republic is an excellent ski destination, many people are still unaware of this. This, in turn, benefits you, as it means that the price level is still below what many of the most popular resorts in, for example, Norway, Germany and Austria can offer. It also means that there are still plenty of unexplored areas to explore, and it really is a country that offers something for everyone.

For example, find a cheap hotel stay near one of the Czech Republic's most popular ski resorts, Spindleruv Mlyn. Here you will be staying in the middle of the vast beautiful nature area around Krkonoše National Park, in the Krkonoše Mountains, in the northernmost part of the country. The ski area consists of two large areas, which have recently been modernised throughout the lift system and offer great conditions for families with children as well as couples and friends on a ski holiday. Altogether there are over 25 km of pistes for alpine skiing and snowboarding and a whole 90 km of cross-country skiing routes.

You can also combine your skiing holiday in the Czech Republic with a lovely day trip to Prague. Although most of the country's ski resorts are located higher up, close to the borders with Poland and Germany, you can easily find hotels just a few hours' drive from the capital. So you can choose a day where the skiing takes a break and you instead take a glorious city break in Prague, where you can see the city's beautiful cathedral, go shopping and take a walk across the Charles Bridge.

Find an offer that suits your needs and go on your next ski holiday in 2019.
