Baroniet Rosendal

Find a cheap summer holiday to Norway at Risskov and set off on adventures at your own pace. In Norway, the nobility lost their special rights in 1821, decades before similar democratic ideas broke through in both Denmark and Sweden, and if you're heading to Bergen, a visit to Baroniet Rosendal would be an excellent detour. Originally a wedding gift to the wealthy Karen Mowat and a Danish nobleman named Ludvig Rosenkrantz, the estate was completed in 1665. In 1927 it was donated to the University of Oslo and is now open to visitors. It is still preserved as a home and stands as it did when the last owners left it in 1927. Today it serves food and during the year many concerts and cultural events featuring well-known Norwegian artists are also held. Find a self-drive holiday and child-friendly hotels for your trip and get away to Norway with Risskov.
