Skånevik Fjordhotel has a beautiful location, right on Hardangerfjorden, in the charming little town of Skånevik. Here you will find a stay with great food, good service, relaxation and cosiness, and a large selection of excursions and experiences among the fjord and mountains.
About the hotel
The family-run hotel offers friendly service in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The building has been continuously renovated, however always with preserving the original 60s style. The hotel reception is tourist information, and the staff will be happy to assist you with for walking and cycling tours. For example, enjoy a wonderful bike ride to Etne, which can be reached via a relatively uncrowded road along the coast. As overnight guests you can rent bikes for free during your stay.
There is also plenty of beautiful scenery to discover within a short distance of the hotel, where wooded hills, beautiful mountains, lush and of course the fjord. For example, you are not far from Folgefonna National Park, and should you want to enjoy a fantastic view from the famous 'Trolltunga', you have it within a manageable drive.
Out in the fjord, just in front of the hotel, lies the cosy little 'bathing-island', Peparen, which can be accessed via a small footbridge from the mainland, and here you can enjoy beach life in summer. During your stay you can enjoy a game of billiards and table tennis, enjoy life in the lounge or relax in the fireplace lounge.
A delicious breakfast is served every day for you to enjoy together the view of the fjord from the restaurant. The restaurant has been renovated as recently as 2019, and also offers delicious evening dishes, prepared from scratch by local local produce. The hotel also has a cosy beach café, which offers Italian stone oven baked pizzas.
Free parking is available at the hotel, and during your stay free wireless internet access. For electric cars there is a public charger a few hundred metres from the hotel, which can be used for a fee.
