The three main Venetian islands are Murano, Burano and Torcello, each of which has something to offer. They can all be easily reached by boat, either from Venice or from Punta Sabbione if you are holidaying in Lido Jesolo. On Murano you can discover the glass-blowing art that has adorned Venice for hundreds of years. Burano is a cosy little fishing community with colourful houses and a small museum and Torcello is a charming little island, with just 150 inhabitants, where one of the main attractions is the beautiful mosaics of the former cathedral dating back to the 14th century.
