Das Freilichtmuseum is idyllically located on an island in the middle of the town of Stade, and is one of the oldest open-air museums in Germany. On the island you can see a historic windmill, a ceremonial gate and a beautiful half-timbered building with original furnishings dating back to 1733. Enjoy lunch or refreshments in the open-air museum's cosy restaurant, which is housed in an old farmhouse dating back to 1641.
