About 1,000 metres above sea level, in the western part of Rondane, lies the mountain village of Høvringen, which was also part of one of the oldest 'settlers' in Rondane in the 1900s - a kind of pasture in the mountains. At that time there were about 30 setters around Høvringen.
Today, many visitors come to wander through the beautiful countryside or to take a well-deserved break at one of the cosy refreshment stands. Walk in Peer Gynt's footsteps and visit the hut where, among other things, 'rum porridge' is served and where you can also stock up for the journey onwards, in true Peer Gynt style.
