Many of the beautiful Renaissance buildings in Copenhagen were built during the reign of Christian IV. The Round Tower is no exception, and was built as an observation tower as an extension of Trinitatis Church. But that was then, today it's a unique chance to experience Copenhagen from above. Walking is about 210 metres to the top of the Rundetaarn, and that's even though it's only 36 metres high. The trip up spirals around the inside of the tower walls, so the journey will seem a little longer. But from the top of the observation platform, there's a great view of the whole of old Copenhagen, with indications of the tallest buildings visible to the naked eye. Good exercise for the whole family, rewarded with a unique panoramic view and some unforgettable moments from Købmagergade.
