Otocec Slot

Visit the historic Otocec Castle, scenically located on an island in the middle of the Krka River. In Slovenian, the word Otocec means "small island", which is very appropriate for the castle's spectacular location. The castle is the only water castle in Slovenia and is believed to date back to 1252. The island is connected to the mainland by 2 wooden bridges, one to the north and one to the south, and parking is available at the northern bridge. Today the castle functions as a luxury hotel and it is possible to dine in the restaurant. The island also has a castle park, a golf course and a climbing park for children and adventurers.
