The Erzgebirge is also known for its proud tradition of wood carving and wood carving, especially for Christmas-related figurines. Räuchermänn, nutcrackers and pyramids are well-known products which are sold for large sums all over the world. There are several museums in the town of Seiffen, just north of the Czech border.
