Nora

Nora has one of Sweden's best preserved wooden buildings, mainly from the 1700s and 1800s. Today, the old wooden buildings are still used for shops, crafts and housing. In 1993, the charming town received an international award, the "Europa-Nostra-diplomet", for good preservation of buildings and cultural monuments. Take a stroll among the cosy buildings and discover the many antiques and curiosities that adorn many of the shop windows. You can also take an old-fashioned train ride on the city's veteran railway, which runs regular tours in summer. This way you can get to both Järle and Pershyttan. Also take the opportunity to see and experience the old steam and diesel locomotives.
