The village of Neugattersleben is architecturally characterised by the old Neugattersleben castle. The castle's history dates back to the 13th century and had its heyday as a regional noble centre from the 16th century, when the influential Alvensleben family took over the castle and many important historical figures came to stay. For many years the castle was surrounded by a magnificent Baroque garden, while today it is used as a development centre and school for agriculture.
