The name of this museum translates directly to "Museum of the Great War", and is a museum dedicated to the 1. World War. The museum is located on the way up to the top of the highest mountain in the Dolomites, Marmolada, at the Serauta lift station. And it's no coincidence that the hotel is on the lift route, as even then lifts were used - though usually hand-powered - to easily transport food, materials and other supplies up and down the mountains. The museum is the highest museum in Europe and contains an exciting exhibition of memorabilia and stories from the First World War and especially the importance of the Alps in the war. When you are on holiday in the Dolomites you should visit this museum.
