The Marmolada cable car is the lift system that takes you to the top of the majestic Marmolada mountain in the Dolomites. The lift ride takes place in three stages and goes first from the foot of the mountain up to the Banc d'Antemoja at 2,350 metres above sea level. From there it's up to Serauta at 2,950 metres above sea level, and finally you end up at the summit, Punta Penia, at no less than 3,343 metres above sea level. Here you stand on the very highest point of the Dolomites and enjoy a truly spectacular view of the beautiful landscapes below. You don't have to do the whole tour in one go, though, as there's a little to discover at each station, such as a World War I museum at Serauta station called 'Museo La Grande Guerra'. The cable car was built in 1965 and underwent a major renovation in 2004. The ride lasts about 12 minutes in total.
