Marmolada

Marmolada is often called the "Queen of the Dolomites", because at 3,343 metres it is the highest mountain in the Dolomites. It is also a relatively wide mountain as it straddles the two northern Italian regions, Trentino and Veneto. On the east side it faces the Cordevole river and on the west side it leans down towards the beautiful valley area, Val di Fassa.

In winter, Marmolada is of course one of the region's most popular ski resorts and offers a wide range of options, whether you're into cross-country skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding or alpine skiing. The rest of the year is set for some truly fantastic hiking. The area's lifts take you up to the tip, Punta Penia, in three separate circuits, and from the top you'll have a truly spectacular panoramic view of the rolling countryside. The Dolomites are partly UNESCO-listed and include, among many other things, Marmolada.
