Marholmen is an island located in the Roslagen archipelago, just an hour from Stockholm and 15 minutes from Norrtälje. The island was previously owned by farmer Nils Berg and his wife Hanna, who later donated the island as a resting place for working-class women. The island soon became a holiday destination, and there was, among other things, an elementary school with paintings by Elsa Beskow. Today you can take the boat over to Marholmen and enjoy a day on the beach. There are also plenty of activities on the island, including a spa, adventure golf, playgrounds, paintball and much more.
