Norway's largest lake lies on the border between Hedmark, Oppland and Akershus. The towns of Hamar, Gjøvik and Lillehammer are located on Lake Mjøsa. On both sides you will find a number of small and large farms, as the area is one of the most fertile in the country.
There are also plenty of opportunities for fishing, as Mjøsa is rich in a variety of freshwater fish. You can also experience the lake and the beautiful landscape from the ship, Skibladner. If swimming tempts you, you will also find a nice beach line. Most people wait until summer to plunge into the wet elements, while many locals are keen winter bathers.
