Hallstatt

In Hallstatt you will find a unique atmosphere and it is a nice excursion to visit the little gem of a village. Behind the village, the vertical rock walls stand guard. To the other side you have a great view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Hallstatt is quite simply a small but incredibly charming and historic village on Lake Hallstatt. Today the town has a train station on the opposite shore. You can take the small boat that shuttles back and forth between the station and the town. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a very popular destination - not to be missed on a self-drive holiday in Austria. In the evening, a unique atmosphere falls over the town and the lake.
