If you draw a triangle with the cities of Nuremberg, Bamberg and Bayreuth as coordinate points, you have roughly defined the area known as "Franconian Switzerland". The name comes from the many beautiful landscapes in the area, characterised by mountains, lakes and fields as far as the eye can see.
As well as hiking, cycling and sailing in the stunning scenery, you can also go on a cave expedition in some of the many caves and grottoes in the area. Among them, the most famous is the beautiful dripstone cave, Binghöhle, near Streitberg.
In addition, the Neideck and Streitburg castle ruins are also recommended to see when in the area.
