European Solidarity Museum

BHP Hal Gdansk Shipyard is the place where the solidarity movement started. It was here that the first strikes against Poland's communist regime began. In 1980 Solidarity had its headquarters here and it was also here that the August Agreement between the Communist regime in Poland and Solidarity was signed. The agreement opened up the possibility of the right to strike and independent trade unions, and later, with the wave of political freedom, democracy with the famous Lech Walesa.

Visit the very interesting museum and hear the impressive story of the strikes at the Gdansk shipyard and the Solidarity movement in Poland.
