Ebeltoft

Go on a cheap car holiday in Denmark and visit the cosy market town of Ebeltoft, which has a wonderful location by the sea. In the beautiful old town you will find countless fine half-timbered houses, still standing as they were when they were built. Today Ebeltoft is known for its winding cobbled streets, old houses and many charming pedestrian streets with a selection of speciality shops, restaurants and cafés as well as a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Ebeltoft's landmark is without comparison the world's largest wooden ship, the Fregatten Jylland. The ship is a unique piece of Danish history. Here you can experience living Danish naval history and enjoy an authentic lunch at the same time. In the museum hall next to the ship, there are various exciting exhibitions on maritime history.

Museum Ebeltoft is part of Museum Østjylland, which is a local cultural history museum. The museum consists of several different buildings and you can for example look inside the Old Town Hall, where you can see the Molbo Room and the Court Room or visit the dungeon in the basement. Also visit the charming Farvergård in the main street, where local farmers used to have their yarn and home-woven clothes dyed. Enjoy a cheap weekend break or mini break from Risskov.
