Cortona

Cortona is a beautiful medieval town with a lot of history, and also known as the inspiration for the film "A House in Tuscany". Visit the sights of the Duomo (cathedral), the small Museo Diocesano with a fine art collection. The Museo dell'Accademia Etrusca is also worth a visit, with its collection of Etruscan and Roman artefacts. Cortona town is characterised by beautiful churches spanning several historical periods.
