Brescia is Lombardy's second largest city, second only to Milan, and has roots dating back to before the Roman Empire. Much of its history is extremely well preserved, making it a city that hides plenty of historical treasures, both in terms of architecture, UNESCO-listed sites, interesting museums and stunning castles. Discover, for example, the old and new cathedral, the art museum, the old Roman temple "Tempio Capitolino", the Roman amphitheatre and the historic underground tunnels. If you're more into shopping than sightseeing, there are also plenty of exciting boutiques to explore.
