The Botanical Garden is a fine green gem in the centre of Zurich. Admission to the garden is free and it contains over 8000 plants. Local residents make frequent use of the garden for lunch in the green. Don't miss the tropical, bubble-shaped greenhouses dotted around the garden. There is also a small pond with water lilies and frogs. You can eat takeaway food on benches in the shade, or check out what the café has on offer for refreshments. You can also visit the free ethnographic museum, which is right by the garden.
