Vaxholm

Visit Vaxholm, the capital of the archipelago. Just an hour's boat ride from Stockholm, Vaxholm is a cosy little archipelago town full of cafés, restaurants, shops and beaches, not to mention beautiful scenery! Here you can rent a bike and explore the countryside from the saddle of a bicycle. The town's sights include many historic buildings, including Bogesund Castle and Vaxholm Fortress, and you can also experience a Viking walk and learn how people lived here 1000 years ago.
