Tulip season in the Netherlands
Experience Holland's tulips in full bloom from late March until mid-May. By mid-April, the tulip season is at its peak and large parts of the Netherlands will be covered in a colourful carpet of tulips. In the first days of spring, the tulips grow up to 15 cm a day and you will be able to hear the squeaking of the tulips as they grow. A great way to experience the tulips is by bike or car around the countryside. Most tulip farms are located in the Noordoostpolder, in the province of Flevoland, and in the area known as Kop van Noord-Holland. Also worth a visit is the flower auction, Flora Holland in Aalsmeer.
