Visit the museum with exhibits from two old prisons. The Swedish Prison Museum is centrally located next to Gävle Castle on the south side of the river. Travel back in time to public punishment in the basement from 1732, where some of the underground cells date back to the 1500s.
Here, too, you can see the new developments of the 19th century in the isolation of the condemned.
