Svaneholm Castle Ruin

In a wooded area, just 10 km southeast of Mjölby, you can visit the ruins of the medieval castle Svaneholm from the 1300s. Beautifully situated on a peninsula by Lake Kilarpesjön, in the parish of Västra Harg, lies the hidden castle ruin, untouched for centuries. Untouched in the sense that no archaeological investigations have yet taken place and that relatively few people even know about the medieval village, as it is only mentioned in a few texts from that time.
