Slubice

The Polish town of Slubice has just under 17,000 inhabitants and is located right on the German/Polish border near the German city of Frankfurt (Oder). In fact, Slublice was a suburb of Frankfurt (Oder) until 1945, but today the two cities function independently and are located in separate countries on either side of the Oder River, which also forms the land border between Germany and Poland. However, a bridge across the river links the two towns, so it's easy to make a trip to Slublice in Poland, where you can pick up a bargain at one of the popular markets.
