Slag is the waste product that remains after the copper has gone through the smelting process. 'Slegghaugan' or Slag Mound reminds us of the enormous activity that has gone on for over 300 years in both mining and copper smelting. Not far from Slegghaugan is Sleggvejen, also known as 'Pippigatan', as an episode of Astrid Lindgren's story about Pippi Longstocking was filmed in the very same street.
