Riserva Regionale Valle Andona

This nature reserve, located just outside the medieval town of Asti, is one of the best known - also at international level. This is because the beautiful area is extremely rich in fossils, many of which have been found to contain the remains of marine organisms, arousing great interest in palaeontological circles worldwide. The area is divided into two valleys and is open to the public all year round. There are signposted walking trails and various cycling routes as well as picnic areas. It is possible to go on a guided tour of the area - however this must be arranged with the park staff.
