Ribnitz-Damgarten is located in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen, which lies on the shores of Lake Ribnitzer See.

It is a small town, situated in a beautiful spot with a great view over the Ribnitzer Lake, and the town hides a little gem of a museum called the 'Little Vineta Museum', which on its three floors has changing and interesting special exhibitions, as well as a permanent exhibition dealing with the history of the town.
