Papenburg
Papenburg is a town in the Emsland district of Lower Saxony located on the River Ems. The town is known for its large shipyard, which specialises in building cruise ships. At the famous shipyard "Meyer Werft" you can follow the production of the large luxury cruise ships. Visit the Meyer Werft visitor centre, which gives you an interesting insight into shipbuilding.
Papenburg hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year. Go to a concert, to the theatre or visit one of the art exhibitions in town. There are also markets, festivals and other exciting events throughout the year.
