The modern Gothenburg Opera, located on Lilla Bommen in the harbor, was inaugurated in 1994. Operas, musicals and ballets follow each other. The architect behind the modern creation is Jan Izikowitz and the building is inspired by the world of opera, but also has a maritime feel.
