Märkische Schweiz Nature Park

Märkische Schweiz has long been a well-developed hiking area, and despite being Germany's smallest nature park at just under 200 km², virtually all landforms are represented in the area. Streams and lakes, gorges and valleys, deciduous forests and ponds, dead-end potholes, fields and moors all characterise the landscape as far as the eye can see. Virtually the entire area is registered as a European Bird Sanctuary and, whether it is summer, spring, autumn or winter, birds of countless species, including several rare species, can be spotted.
