Koldinghus

Visit the historic town of Kolding and in the centre of the town is Koldinghus, the royal castle which was built by the Danish king in 1268 to defend the border between Schleswig and Denmark. The castle burned down in 1808 and stood in ruins for a long time until the long restoration started. Koldinghus houses an exciting collection of Romanesque and Gothic church sculptures as well as antique Danish art and crafts, of which the collection of Danish silver art in particular is unsurpassed.
