Haraldshaugen - Norway's Royal Monument
Find a cheap holiday at Risskov and discover the West Coast. Visit Haraldshauge, Norway's national monument.
In the last century, it was believed that it could be proved that it was this very burial mound that was described in Snorre's royal saga. It was here that the monument was erected in 1872, to commemorate the millennium of Harald Hairfagger's unification of Norway under one king into one kingdom. The monument was designed by architect Christian Christie, and is a large burial mound surrounded by a granite wall consisting of 29 building stones. Enjoy a cheap summer holiday or autumn holiday with Risskov and go exploring with the family and the car.
