Gripsholm Castle

A visit to Gripsholm Castle is a must during a holiday in or around Mariefred. The castle was built around 1370 by Bo Johansson Grip and after many alterations and extensions, it got its current appearance and became a castle during the reign of Gustav Vasa. At the castle you can walk through the royal halls and see Sweden's national portrait collection. Also take a walk in the park and meet deer along the way.
