Grevesmühlen Cemetery Forest

The beautiful forest, Friedwald, lies between Vielbecker See and Santower and invites you to a nice, albeit different, hike. A different walk because in the centre of the forest are buried urns with the ashes of people who wished to spend their afterlife here. This discreet memorial acts as a peaceful shelter in the middle of the forest. However, the concept is not unique to Grevesmühlen, in fact there are over 50 such forests scattered across Germany.
