At the German Horse Museum you can really learn about horses! It gives a fascinating overview of human history with the horse, the history of horse racing and horse breeding. In the former cavalry barracks on Holzmarkt you can also search for clues: the emergence of horses and riding, the role of the horse in different eras and cultures - here you will find answers to all your questions.

In front of a big screen, you can gallop across the Worlds horse race track, ride in a carriage or experience up close how the horse sees and perceives its surroundings. With the help of a "reflector" you can see the world through the eyes of a horse. Another highlight is the library, where more than 15,000 books document the history of the horse.
