Geo-Nature Parks Saale-Unstrut - Triasland

The first thing that surprises visitors is how much the southern part of the park could remind of a landscape taken from the Mediterranean areas, there are for example 24 species of orchids growing wild in the area, and then there are also many castles, palaces, beautiful gardens, monasteries not to mention the cathedral Naumburger Dom in Freyburg.

The nature park is closely linked to the geology of the area, where the rocks date back to the Triassic period and consist of sandstone and shell limestone, among other things.

There are plenty of cycling and walking routes, and there's a lot to see. There are both short and long walks, so everything can be tailored to your strength and desire, the important thing is just to get out and experience the ancient park.
