Gålå Alpine Centre
Gålå Alpincenter is located in the heart of Guldbrandsdalen, north of Lillehammer. Here you will find an excellent combination of skiing facilities for alpine skiing as well as cross-country skiing and tobogganing for people of all ages. Gålå Alpincenter is extremely family and child friendly and is a great choice for a ski holiday in Norway for the whole family.
There are several good ski school offers on site, tailored to the different age groups. For children, there is the Teddy Bear Club for children under 6, the Knerten Skiklubb for children between 6 and 10 and the Junior Skiklubb for children between 11 and 16. For youngsters and adults, there are 3-day ski courses for alpine, snowboard and cross-country skiing, as well as private lessons.
Located close to Jotunheimen National Park, the resort covers a huge area with a total of 15 slopes with 8 lifts and a beautiful hiking area with more than 230 km of trails.
The ski area reaches between 780 and 1150 metres and is spread over two main mountains, Blåbærfjell and Valsfjell, both of which vary widely in difficulty. Blåbærfjell offers nice and child-friendly green runs, as well as a challenging red run, while Valsfjell has a green and a red run, as well as a black run for the very skilled.
The centre has a wide range of equipment available for hire, with everything from skis, poles and boots to snowboards and helmets.
In the cosy café you can warm up in front of the fireplace and enjoy a variety of menus and snacks. The café also has a cosy room where children can play games and board games, as well as a reading room with a wide selection of books and magazines.
