Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre is characterised by steep coastlines, which in some places go almost vertically up and down, and the towns are perched on the cliffs, giving a very special atmosphere whichever one you walk around. The towns are connected by a footpath and there is not actually a regular road between them. There is, however, a railway line, most of which is made up of tunnels.
