Bleckede

Bleckede, just southeast of Hamburg, is also a great place for a self-drive holiday. Take a cheap mini break to Bleckede and see and experience the town's Elbschloss. The current castle sits on the remains of a former castle dating back to 1270, of which the tall tower still stands. There is a viewing platform at the top of the tower from which you can enjoy a lovely view. In the castle itself you will find a fine exhibition telling about the exciting river landscape of the Elbe. In Bleckede it is also worth taking a closer look at the old baroque church of St. Jacobi and the green areas, where you can find interesting stone formations in the Findlingsgarten Breetze.
