Assistens Cemetery

This very special cemetery is located in Nørrebro in Copenhagen, and was initially created when there was a lack of space within the ramparts. But Assistens Cemetery is particularly well known as a number of famous people are buried here. But the beautiful cemetery is also a testament to the passage of history and so is certainly worth a visit. Visit H.C. Andersens, Kierkegaard, Eckersberg, Scherfig, Niels Bohr and Etta Cameron's graves, to name just a few of the Danish celebrities who lie in rest at Assistenskirkegården.
