Ahrensburg

Beautiful Ahrensburg dates back to the 13th century and thus has a lot of interesting history to offer. The castle, "Arx Arnsburga," which was built to defend the town, is not much left, but it is still possible to visit the old castle ruins and let your imagination work its way back in time. The cosy town has lots of small shops with a rich selection of ceramics and art mixed with cafés and restaurants and a pleasant but also vibrant town life.

Also the beautiful castle in Ahrensburg, deserves a visit. Take a tour of the magnificent halls and beautiful rooms in the Rococo style, and especially the newly restored rooms in the western part of the castle look absolutely stunning with parquet floors, stucco ceilings and very beautiful and fine furniture from the period.
