Go on a self-drive holiday in West Jutland and discover Nissum Fjord and the small charming station town Ulfborg, located in Holstebro Municipality. Ulfborg is located between the cosy villages of Sønder Nissum and Husby. It is not far to Vedersø Klit and the harbour town Thorsminde.

Around Ulfborg there is a beautiful nature where lots of adventures await. At Husby Klitplantage there is beautiful vegetation with heather, beech, oak, pine, spruce and towards the west the landscape transforms into a hilly heath landscape with dunes and the perfect place to enjoy the view of the sea. Ulfborg and Vemb offer a wealth of activities both on land and at sea. Nissum Fjord and the North Sea offer windsurfing and hang gliding, but there is also paragliding and sailing. If the weather isn't right for a trip to the beach, Ulfborg Swimming Centre offers a great day out for the whole family. Try their 40m waterslide and have fun with the family.

Ulfborg is surrounded by beautiful nature, and especially Nissum Fjord is very visited as it is also the home of many of the migratory birds that fly along the west coast of Jutland. The area is therefore also an internationally protected area. It is especially in spring and autumn that the many beautiful birds can be seen in their natural habitat.

Ulfborg also offers golf to the many enthusiasts and the golf clubs are not far from the town. Enjoy a golf break in the woods at Holstebro Golf Club, which offers three courses. The Park Course is a 9-hole course, then there is the Meadow Course and the Forest Course of 18 holes, which has even been voted Denmark's best golf course several times. Borbjerg Mølles 9-hole Pay & Play course is open all year round and is a good place to start if you haven't played golf before. The course is 1600 metres long and is surrounded by nature with lakes and moraine hills.

Ulfborg also has a wide selection of shops and speciality stores. Take a stroll at your own pace with the whole family along the shopping street, where there is a wide selection of everything from women's and men's clothing, shoes, handicrafts, household art, jewellery and antiques. Ulfborg is also known for its market, which was first held back in 1840. Ulfborg Market is held the second last weekend in August next to the Vestjysk Leisure Centre. It is a market for the whole family and runs over the whole weekend. Make a bargain and discover the many stalls offering everything between heaven and earth. Read more about the market on their website. Ulfborg is also known for its annual car rally, where hundreds of American cars gather at Ulfborg's marketplace. If the dates fit in with your holiday, it's definitely worth a visit if you're a fan of genuine American leather. The event runs from 18th to 20th May.

One of Ulfborg's very popular excursion destinations is the Historical Stone which stands at Kronhede Camp School. Alfred Kaae erected it in 1938 and engraved all the main points from Danish history. From Ansgar and the Jutland Law to the Kalmar Union, the Reformation in 1536, the abolition of the Stavnsbånd in 1788 and the Reunification of 1920 as well as the discovery of the Golden Horns.
