Thisted as a town has many wonderful things to offer and plenty to do whether you prefer to enjoy the days alone, as a couple or family. There is something for everyone, whether you are into the arts, culture, nature, or just need a relaxing break with great dining and shopping.

A trip to Thisted Lilleby will be an obvious place to visit. Here you can see a faithful replica of Thisted town centre in 1950, in a tenth of the size. The 70 or so houses and Thisted Church, which is still under construction, have been built authentically down to the last detail by former local craftsmen who have reached retirement age. And the mini town even has its own mini brickworks, where all the bricks and roof tiles are produced for the town.

If you are into culture, a trip to Thisted Musikteater will be a great choice. There are over 100 events throughout the year. There are concerts, performances and exhibitions organised by numerous associations, both private and public.

Visit Christiansgave, a park belonging to the citizens of Thisted town. The park was given to the citizens by King Christian VIII in 1844, and it has been used extensively ever since. The city park is a plantation and has had several amusement places and pavilions over the years. Today there is an open-air theatre where entertainment for both children and adults is organised throughout the summer. In addition, there is a fully equipped nature workshop where you can learn more about nature. Be sure to stop by the "King's Grove" where you can see a thorn rose castle made from a discarded tree trunk. The castle is crafted from materials such as gold, silver, copper, iron and aluminium. There is also a playground in Christiansgave where children can play and have fun.

During the driving holiday, a visit to Nordsø Akvariet in Nr. Vorupør, here it's all about experiences in the depths of the sea. Are you interested in the North Sea and all the different fish species, both rare and the more common, all brought ashore by the local fishermen?

There is also the opportunity for adults to experience something on their own. Go on a 2-hour sailing tour on Limfjorden with tasting experiences, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and find your very own beer favourites. You will have the opportunity to listen to a story about Thisted Bryghus and taste several different beers. There is of course the possibility to buy the beers to take home.

Take a trip to the world's largest renewable energy laboratory on your road trip. Here you have the opportunity to learn a lot more about green energy. There are various places where you can see and learn more about wind turbines, for example, at the Østerild Test Centre for large wind turbines, or the Nordic People's Centre for Renewable Energy or the Frøstrup Energy Point. Yes, even the Thy National Park is used in connection with energy production in the area

Last but not least, there is the possibility of a more active mini-break, where Kronborg Plantage boasts 25 hectares. There are sculptures and huts, and an "exercise trail" where you can experience nature through all your senses. It is also possible to go hiking or cycling along the Salling Nature Trail.
