With almost 600,000 inhabitants, Stuttgart is an exciting metropolitan experience. This is the main square in Stuttgart and unites the beautiful palace park and the popular shopping street, Königstrasse. The highlight of the royal square is the U-shaped Neues Schloss, the last Baroque castle to be built in Germany.

When you're in Stuttgart's bustling centre, the Neues Schloss is definitely the main attraction. Not far from the Old Palace, it was almost completely destroyed during World War II. World War II, during a bombing raid on Stuttgart. The castle has housed both kings and royalty, but since 1968 (after reconstruction) it has been used by the Ministry of State. Located in the centre of Stuttgart, the castle is well worth a visit for its beautiful architecture and fascinating history.

The most popular attraction in Stuttgart is Wilhelma, one of the best zoos and botanical gardens in Europe. If you love going to the zoo, Wilhelma is a must. Compared to the whole world, this zoo has one of the largest populations of different animal species.
