Klínovec Klínovec is the highest mountain in the Krušné Mountains, and offers sporting activities all year round. Perfect for an active holiday. Klínovec is known for its excellent skiing facilities and over the last few years very large sums have been invested to make Klínovec a great skiing experience. It has been very successful and during the winter many ski-loving tourists return to Klínovec to enjoy the excellent skiing and snow conditions. There are 18 km of slopes with four chairlifts, five ski lifts and three rollerblades for children in the snow parks. The longest chairlift is almost 3 km long and starts at Jáchymov and the ski slope is 50-100 m wide and one of the longest and widest slopes in the Czech Republic. Klínovec is merged with Fichtelberg, which lies about five kilometres to the west on the German side of the border.
Klínovec is also a sought-after destination for cycling enthusiasts and as soon as the snow melts it's a mecca for mountain riders with both a trail park and plenty of exciting and challenging routes. As Kínovec is only about 700 km from the Danish-German border, it's an obvious self-drive destination if a ski or cycling holiday is on the wish list.
